The entrepreneurial development project was conducted from January 07, 2019 to April 16, 2019 at Brgy. Kaytambog, Indang, Cavite, for the student entrepreneur to gain actual experience in hog fattening, apply the knowledge and skills in hog raising, and gain profit after the production.The project had four weanlings that was purchased from Lintiw St. Indang, Cavite. The weanlings had an average weight of 18.25 kilograms and reared for 96 days. After the fattening period, the animals attained an average final weight of 97.75 kg and an average gain in weight of 72.5 kilograms equivalent to 747.422 grams daily gain in weight.
The hogs was provided with feeds purchased from Indang public market. The total feed consumption of the hogs was 200 kilograms. The feed conversion efficiency was 2.20. The project had a total cost of production of P43, 491.00. The total sales were P45, 280.00 resulting to a net income of P1, 791.00. The project had its breakeven point at 67.995 kilograms, equivalent to P10, 872.75. The return on investment (ROT) was 4.11 percent.
