Abstract: ENCARNACION, IVAN KIRBY R., ESCUTIN, MIGUEL II M., Proposed Design of Four-Storey Green Building Multi-Purpose Hall in Barangay Sinaliw Munti, Alfonso, Cavite. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Engr. Roslyn P. Pena The design was conducted at the proponents' residences from October 2018 to May 2019 and was evaluated on the fourth week of April 2019 at the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Cavite State University. The objectives of the study were to gather information and integrate the green building technology, provide the architectural and structural plans, provide a structural design and analysis of the structural members, provide electrical and plumbing lay-outs, and determine the total cost of the proposed structure. The design would serve as a basis and reference for the city planning and development. The complexity of the mathematical expressions involving matrix operations and dynamic equations was simplified by using STAAD.Pro V8i (SELECTseries 6). Structural analysis involving assigning of loads and modelling of the structural framework was done. Results such as shears, reactions, and moments were obtained. These data were used in determining the most economical sections. The total elevation of the building is 12 meters with each level having an elevation meters. The first floor with an intended use for a day care center is equipped with ms, offices for teachers, lobbies, and comfort rooms. It has a floor area of 493.00 For the second floor, which is the health office, has consultation rooms, ward, cy, lobby, and comfort rooms with PWD cubicles. The floor area of the second floor is 549.00 m2. Moreover, the third floor was intended for the barangay office use. It contains offices for the barangay captain and council, conference room, detention room, lobby and comfort rooms with PWD cubicles. It has the same floor area as the second floor which is 549.00 m2. The fourth floor which is intended for multi-purpose use contains the maintenance room. Also, it has the same floor area as the second and third floor of 549.00 m2. And lastly, a roof deck was utilized with a floor area of 549.00 m2 also. The total floor area of the building is 2689.00 m2. From the STAAD analysis, economic sections were determined. Four beams were designed, one having dimensions of 300 x 500 mm while 400 x 600 mm for the other three. Furthermore, two columns were designed which has dimensions of 450 x 450 mm and 600 x 600 mm. For the footings, two were designed having the same depth of 2 meters. The first one has dimensions of 2.75 x 2.75 in and the second one is 3.00 x 3.00 m. Four cases for slab were designed. The total cost of the project is ₱36,195,902.92 which translated to a cost of ₱13,460.73 per square meter. Green building technology was also integrated in the design. The chosen techniques lo be incorporated with the building are natural air ventilation and lighting, and rainwater harvesting. These techniques were chosen based on the environment surrounding the proposed area. Though the proposed building was designed to optimum quality, the researchers were aware that there are still room for improvements and development. Modern methodologies could be used instead of the traditional method. Also, more green building ques could be integrated to improve the building performance and aesthetics.
