The project aimed to give the student entrepreneur actual practice in putting up a hog fattening enterprise. Specifically, it aimed to provide the student an opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge in hog fattening into practice, enhance the skills and knowledge in hog raising enterprise, and gain income and profit from the project. The project was conducted at Brgy. Kaytambog Indang, Cavite from January 07, 2019 to April 19, 2019. Four piglets with an average weight of 14.25 kgs. were purchased from Brgy. Lintiw, Indang, Cavite. Hogs were fed three times a day at 7:00AM, 12:00 Noon and 5PM. The hogs consumed 4 bags of starter pellet in 30 days and 12 bags of grower pellet in 73 days. Throughout the production period, respiratory illness was encountered so antibiotic was given to the animals. Moreover, the pigpen was covered with thick plastic sheet/ tarpaulin to lessen exposure of the hogs surroundings to changing weather conditions. The average final weight of the four hogs was 98.5 kg. Feed consumption in the whole cycle reached 200 kg per head with an average daily gain of 859.37g in starter phase and 813.11g in grower phase. The computed Feed Conversion Efficiency were 1.82 in starter phase and 2.39 in grower phase.
