Online resources: Abstract: FORMARAN, EDWIN Y MAPAYE. The Effect of Concentrate Mixture on the Feedlot Performance of Young Bulls Fed Principally on Forage Crops. Practicum Report submitted under Special Study Program, Don Severino Agricultural | College, April 1992. Adviser: Prof. Erano C. Esguerra. Feedlot fattening nowadays is the most popular system of fattening cattles in the Philippines. However, the use of concentrate mixture is not used in feeding cattles due to some reasons. Thus, this study was conducted to determine the response of young bulls to different samples of concentrate mixtures, especially on their live~ weight gains and feed efficiency. The samples of concentrate mixtures used with protein levels of 18.87%CP, 16. 9O%CP & 13.07%KCP. Only three (3) heads of cattles were used in this study. Every cattle was force fed with con= centrate mixture, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Initial weight of the cattles was taken by using a cattle weight calculator. Likewise, the final weight of cattles was taken after three (3) months of feeding. The results revealed that feeding concentrate mixtures with 18.87%CP, 16.90%CP & 13.07%CP respectively, gave outstanding result on the liveweight gains of the animals ranging from 1.0 to 1.2 kilos per three (3) kilos of concentrate mixtures fed, likewise it showed that the larger the animal, it requires a higher amount of roughage consumed as compared to smaller animals.
