Abstract: DEMILLO , JOANN S . Applied Research IV student (Agricultural Science Curriculum) Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, 1993. "Effects are different. Levels of ‘trichoderma - Induced Compost and Urea on the Growth and Yield of Cowpea (Vigna sinensis lL.). Adviser: Mrs. Estrellita E. Morena This study , "Effects of Different Levels of Trichoderma - induced Uompost on the Growth and Yield of Cowpea (Vigna sinensis L,)" was conducted from November , 1992 to January , 1993 at the Centreak Experimental Field of Don Severino Agricultural College , Indang, Cavite to: 1)evaluate the growth and yield of cowpea as affected by different levels. of trichoderma-induced compost and Urea and ; 2) determine which specific level of Trichoderma-induced compost and Urea best suited for the growth and yield of cowpea . Different levels of Trichoderma-induced compost and Urea (21-0-0) applied to cowpea served as treatments and were replicated. three. times. . Specifically, the treatments were ; Ty - 200 grams of Urea., T, - 150 grams of Urea and 150 grams of compost , T, - 100 grams of Urea and 300 grams of compost. , Ts - 50 grams of Urea and 450 grams of compost, and finally. , T% - 600 grams of compost. Data was analyzed by using. a Randomized Complete block Design . It was found out that T, with 600 grams of compost was the best treatment in terms of growing and producing better crops . It was further concluded that increasing the amount of Trichoderma-induced compost help the. Plants to produce healthy crops . Findings of this study revealed that there are highly significant differences among every treatment in terms of height of plants, number of leaves, length and weight of pods. The use of 600 grams of compost in growing and production of cowpea is being recommended . Furthermore, the author also recommend: further study on the levels of compost and use different kinds of inorganic fertilizer .
