The project, "Production of Mungo (Taiwan Green) After Rice in Lowland Irrigated Area" was conducted at Barangay Halang, Naic, Cavite from November to February 1990. It aimed to determine whether the recommended variety (Taiwan Green) will give the maximum yield when planted late under irrigated area. An area of 2,500 square meter was used in this project. After rice was harvested, two gates of mungo seeds were uniformly broadcast in the field. Application of complete fertilizer at the rate of 100 kg. per hectare was applied basally to ensure effi-ciency of fertilizer utilization under lowland irrigated area. Harvesting was done 75 days after planting. Harvested pods were threshed and cleaned. A total of 130 kg of dry seeds of mungo were obtained and sold at 18.00 per kilogram. The project obtained a total gross sales of P2,340.00. After deducting the overall expenses, the project gave a total net income of P1,253.00.
