Fifty-six percent of the monocrop farm growers were share-tenants while 46 percent of the pineapple-based farm growers were owner-operators. On the other hand, none of the selected socio-economic variables affect the net return from monocrop farms. Educational attainment, tenure status and farm size had no influence on cost of production from the pineapple-based farm. On the other hand, educational attainment, tenure status and farm size were not related to net return. Farming experience was related to net return from pineapple-based farms. Different production and marketing problems observed such as poor quality of the produce, prevalence of weeds, high cost of farm inputs, lack of capital, poor feeder roads and means of transportation.
