Abstract: TAPNIO, MARI CEL S. Applied Research IV (Agriscience Curriculum) , Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite , March 1990. "Effect of IBA and KNO as Substrata Moistening Agent on Germination of Calamansi (Citrus mitis Linn.) Adviser: Prof. Josefino A. Viado The study, "Effect of IBA and }Q'JO as Substrata Moistening Agent on Germination of Calamansi (Citrus mitis Linn.) was conducted to determine the effect of different levels of Indole Butyric Acid (IBA) and Potassium Nitrate (KNO ) on the germination of calamansi and if there would be significant results that could be obtained using these 2 solutions. The different treatments used were , for IBA; T (control) ; T (10 ppm) ; T2 (20 ppm) ; T (30 ppm) and (1+0 ppm) For KNO the different treatments 3 ' used were TO (control) ; T (5%) ; T2 (10%) ; T (15%) ; (20%) . Treated calamansi seeds showed a higher percentage of germination as compared to untreated seeds. Treatment 1+ ppm IBA) had the highest percentage germination on the dry weight and average length of radicle, seeds treated with 10 ppm IBA gave the highest mean and significant results This proved that levels of' IBA had a remarkable effect on the germination and growth of calamansi. However, the use of different levels of KNO3 do not have a significant effect on the germination and seedling growth of calamansi
