Abstract: DIZA, MICHAEL H. Agricultural Science Department, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, March 1995 "UTILIZATION OF COFFE PUP TREATED WITH TRICHODERMA ON THE GROWTH AND FLOWERING PERFORMANCE OF ANTHURIUM Adviser: Prof. Cecilia A. Capalad The study entitled "Utilization of Coffee Pulp Treated With Trichoderma on the Growth and Flowering Performance of Anthurium 't was conducted, its objectives are ( L) to utilize coffee pulp by composting, making it an available source of organic fertilizer; (2) to determine the effect of compost derived from coffee pulp on the growth and flowering.performance of anthuriums conducted at the author' s residence from April to December 1994, a period covering nine months of study. A total number of 75 anthurium suckers ('Kaumana Variety were used in this study. The study made used of the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with fivetreatments replicated three times. There were five samples per treatments. The experimental treatments are as follows:0 — control; — 100 grams of compost per pot; '12 - 150 grams of compost per pot; 200 grams of compost per pot; and 024 —250 grams of compost per pot. Results showed that Treatment 4 was the best treatment in terms of average plant height increment , average leaf length, average number of leaves, average stem diameter and average number of suckers 0 It is also the best treatment in terms of average number of flowers, average number of days from planting to flower formation and average length of spathe. Moreover 9 Treatment 2 was the best treatment in terms of average length and width of spadix. The least effective treatment was Treatment O as it produced plants with poor growth.
