Abstract: DIAZ, MARK CHRISTIAN R. and PETIL, JULIUS L. Water Audit: Evaluation of Water Consumption in Selected Buildings at Cavite State University —Main Campus (Cluster I). Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2018. Adviser: Engr. Renato B. Cubilla. The study was conducted from October 2017 to March 2018 at Cavite State University Main Campus to conduct water audit in selected buildings at Cavite State University —Main Campus. Specifically, it aimed to: 1. install water meter in the selected buildings at Cavite State University Main Campus; 2. determine the rate of losses and consumptions on selected buildings at Cavite State University Main Campus; 3. develop the most efficient water plan for selected buildings at Cavite State University Main Campus; 4. determine the cost that will be saved in terms of water charges if the repair and efficiency plan was implemented; and 5. determine the estimated cost of the repair and study. Water audit refers to a series of conducting periodic exercises to determine water supplied into the distribution system as well as water loss and/or used within the distribution system. The water audit was conducted at Marketing Building, HEVTED West Building, College of Education including common C.R., Rolle M. Santiago Hall, and University Gymnasium. The study addressed the need of Cavite State University on installing water meter and gate valve on each building as well as the need of conserving ground water as time pass by. This study aimed to calculate the approximate water consumption rate, water losses rate and percentage of losses of the selected buildings. The water audit was conducted as per the water audit methodology of the American Water Works Association (AWWA). The study provided floor plans, plumbing layout, water losses marking, water losses and consumption graph, water evaluation and efficiency plan, cost estimates and documentation on installing water meter. After the analysis and computations, the selected buildings were proven to have an average scenario of losses (1 to 30 percent) except for Marketing Building. The researchers recommended that the water audit of remaining building of Cavite State University Main Campus will be conducted. The total amount of the pipes, fittings and fixtures recommended for replacement estimates is P 181,433.25.
