CLARIN, ERNESTO A. Applied Research IV (Agricultural Science Curriculum), Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite. EFFECT OF DIFFERENT ANIMAL MANURE TEA STERILIZED AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES ON THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF MUSHROOM (Volvariella, volvacea). Adviser: Mr. Epifanio Feraer
The study was conducted at Foblacion, Indang, Cavite from December 1992 to the second week of January 1993. This study aimed to determine the effect of spraying different animal manure tea on the growth and development of mushrooms to identify the appropriate sterlizing temperature and to find out which animal manure tea and which temperature in sterilizing is best suited for the growth and development of mushroom.
A Split-Plot Design was used in the study with different sterilizing temperatures as factor A and different manure tea as factor B. Hoth of them have four levels and replicated three times. The treatments were as follows: Mainplot: Different Sterilizing Temperatures -— To (not Sterilized), Ti (sterilized at 70°C), Te (sterilized at 85°C), and Tx (sterilized at 100°C); Subplot: Different Animal Manure Tea -- Me (Control), Ma (chicken manure tea), Mz (cow manure tea), and Ms (horse manure tea).
The results were summarized as follows:
Different animal manure tea were sianificantly different from each other. They affected the growth and development of mushroom.
Among manure tea, Ma (chicken manure tea) was the best because it showed good performance in all parameters tested.
Among the animal manure tea and different sterilizing temperatures, Mi (chicken manure tea) and Tx (sterilized at 100°C) were the best suited on the growth and development of mushroom.
