Abstract: Fidel, Lourdes E. Don Severino Agricultural College, April 1982. "Factors Affecting Duck Production in Some Selected Towns of Laguna". Adviser: Mrs. Constancia G. Cueno. The study was conducted in two selected towns of Laguna engaged in duck production. A total of 76 respondents were interviewed to: 1) identify some of the factors affecting their production; 2) determine some of the socio-economic characteristics of the respondents; 3) ascertain the relationship of socio-economic characteristics to production; 4) ascertain the relationship between management practices and production; 5) ascertain the relationship between marketing practices and production; 6) and identify some of the problems encountered by the duck raisers. More than one-half of the respondents were married. The age ranged from 23-70 with mean of 47 years. Most of the respondents reached only elementary level of education. The size of the family ranged from one to 12 with a mean of six members. The number of years devoted to duck raising ranged from one to 35 years with a mean of 16 years. Duck raising was the primary source of income of most of the respondents. The size of the farm ranged from fifty to more than 1,000 heads. Among the socio-economic characteristics, educational attainment, and size of the farm exhibited significant relationship with production.
