Abstract: The project "Intercropping Corn with Peanut" was conducted in Mataas na Lupa, Indang, Cavite from May to August, 1990. This aimed to increase the land productivity per unit area by intercropping corn with peanut and to apply the technology in intercropping using corn as the main crop intercropped with peanut. A 1,500 square meter field was used in the project. Corn was planted with a. distance of 50 to 75 centimeters and a depth of 3 to 4 centimeters. Peanuts were planted as intercrops to corn at the same time. Germination of corn and peanut took place three to six days after planting. Weeding and cultivation of the project was done twice. The first was at 20 days and the second was 35 days after planting. Corn ears were harvested 110 days from the time of planting and the harvesting of peanut was done 98 days after planting. Harvested corn and peanut were sold at Indang Public Market. Based on the cost of return analysis, results showed that raising corn intercropped with peanut gave a net income of P2,287.60.
