Abstract: AUSTRIA, JOIMAR G. “Income and Expenditure Pattern of Faculty Members in the Satellite Campuses of Cavite State University”. Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Cavite State University. April 2012. Adviser: Dr. Elizabeth E. Polinga. A study was conducted to determine the socio-demographic characteristics of the faculty members in Satellite Campuses of Cavite State University, their present income and their expenditure patterns. Moreover, the study aimed to determine the extent of their contribution of income of the faculty members to their family income and identify the problems they have encountered in the allocation of income to various expenditure items. This study was conducted in seven Satellite Campuses of Cavite State University namely: Bacoor, Carmona, Cavite City, Imus, Silang, Tanza and Trece. A total of 162 served as respondents in the study. The data were analyzed using statistical tools such as frequency counts, percentage, mean, range, rank and Pearson Correlation. Majority of the faculty members were female with a mean age of 30 years old and most of them earned MS/MA/MBA units.. The respondents’ average monthly income was PhP15,503.00 and the average family gross income amounted to PhP16,678 monthly. The result of Pearson Correlation showed that socio-demographic characteristics, such as age and educational attainment were found to be significantly related to income, while gender, civil status, household size, and number of dependents had no significant relationship to income. Food and utilities expenditure and income were significantly related to each other. The respondents mentioned that the delayed salary was their major problem in the allocation of income.
