Abstract: LABORA, RHEALENE FYNN F. and YAMIO, DEAN EDUARD G. The Development of Radio Frequency Identification Scanner Using Raspberry Pi for Entrance and Exit Monitoring of Students in Cavite State University — Main Campus. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2018. Adviser: Ms. Ria Clarisse L. Mojica. This study was conducted from August 2018 to April 2018 at Cavite State University - Main Campus to develop a RFID scanner using Raspberry Pi to monitor the students' entrance and exit monitoring in Cavite State University. Specifically, it aimed to: 1. identify the problem through current events, interviews and surveys, 2. analyze identified problems using fishbone diagrams; 3. develop a dispatch module that will allow the parents or guardians to know the entrance and exit of their students in the university; 4. create a display module that will display the information and store the entry and exit data of every student in the university; 5. provide a student information module for adding freshmen and transferees, disabling and updating the current students; and 6. evaluate the system using unit, integration and acceptance testing. Software prototyping was used as the methodology of the system. To implement the sending of SMS notification of the system, SIM800Lmaster library was used. Ninety (90) randomly chosen students from Cavite State University — Main Campus and ten (10) collectively chosen faculty members of Department of Information Technology evaluated the system. The results were collected through an evaluation form based on ISO 9126. According to the overall evaluation results, the system was judged to be excellent in all software quality criteria such as functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability, and user-friendliness. Upon the completion of the study, the proponents concluded that system would be a solution for securing the safety of the students going in and out of school daily.
