Abstract: BAJORA, ABEGAIL A., DE TORRES JOHN PAUL P., ESTABILLO, AIRA MAY R. AND MENDOZA, CHARLES FRANCIS T. AUTOMATED FACIAL RECOGNITION LOGGER FOR VIDEO SECURITY SURVEILLANCE. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Ms. Ria Clarisse L. Mojica. This study was conducted from February 2018 to April 2019 at Cavite State University — Main Campus. The purpose of this research was to develop an automated facial recognition logger for video security surveillance that will identify and verify a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video source. One of the ways to do this is by comparing selected facial features from the image and from a facial database. The performance of the face recognition system was enhanced using various algorithms such as Alignment algorithm, Viola Jones algorithm, and Euclidean algorithm. 105 students from the Department of Information Technology in Cavite State University — Main Campus evaluated the system. According to the overall evaluation result of 130 participants, the system was judged to be excellent in all software quality criteria such as functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability. Upon the completion of the study, the proponents concluded that this study would be a good help for an improved security.
