Abstract: CASTILLO, KAHREN. and PENA, KING CHRISTOPHER S. KIRA: A MOBILE RULE-BASED EXPERT SYSTEM FOR REPUBLIC ACT 9262: ANTI —- VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Ms. Ria Clarisse L. Mojica. This study aims to develop a mobile rule-based expert system for the Republic Act No. 9262 to raise awareness on different forms of violence in women and girls. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the user’s situation using the question provided and give a free consultation. It also provides legal advice and recommendations that will educate the user and help them to uphold their rights and to be free from any forms of violence. The Iteration method was used as the methodology of the system. Forward chaining or data driven approach was used as the algorithm wherein the reasoning starts from the known data and proceed forwards by applying the knowledge which is represented by rules to deduce a new knowledge. To implement the rule-based expert system in any mobile devices, the ionic framework was used. According to the overall evaluation results of 100 participants, the system was judged to be excellent in all software quality criteria such as functionality, reliability, usability, portability, maintainability, efficiency, and helpfulness. Upon the completion of the study, the proponents concluded that this would be a solution for the common problems encountered by people who are not strongly aware of Republic Act 9262.
