Rodrin This study aimed to determine: 1) the socio economic characteristics of the farmers (age, monthly income , educational attainment, size of the family, experience in farming and tenurial status) ; 2) the attitudes of the farmers towards industrialization of the Cavite area; and 3) to test if relationships exist between the attitudes of the farmers towards industrialization of Cavite area and some of their socio economic characteristics. The average age of the respondents was 49. Their average monthly income vas P5, 300.00. Majority of the respondents finished elementary level. They mostly belong to 5-7 family members and with an average size of six members. Twenty-six years was the average number of years in farming Forty-one percent of them were tenants and one third are owner opera tors. Twenty-one percent and five percent were part owners and lessees respectively. More than one-half of the respondents were in favor with industrialization while the rest were not in favor. Among the six socio economic characteristics of. the farmers hypothesized to be of no significant relationship with attitude towards industrialization, only age, educational attainment, and experience in farming were found to have significant and highly significant results. However, the Step wise Regression Analysis showed that six percent of the variations in attitude is due to the farmers' experience in farming.
