PEGENIA, LAILANI VIDALLON . "A Study on the Employment and Income of the DSAC Agribusiness Graduates, 1990—1994" B.S. Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Major in Agricultural Economics, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, April 1995. Adviser: Dr. Maria A. Ersando
This study was conducted to determine the present condition of the DSAC Agribusiness Graduates in terms of their income and employment.
Questionnaires and interview schedules were used in gathering the needed information in this study. Maj majority of the respondents were female. Their average age was 23 years. Many graduates have not yet taken graduate courses. Most of the graduates had only few numbers of dependents . Similarly, the respondents had only two or less number of earning family members.
Majority of the respondents were private employees who have permanent employment status .considering the present condition, the graduates
had income that is just enough for their daily needs .
Many graduates were engaged in manufacturing. Almost 44 percent had jobs that are not related to their field of specialization.
Almost all respondents have been planning to attend various trainings (seminars/ short courses) as well as pursue higher studies
The major problem encountered by the respondents was that their place of work was far from home .
Government should try to help the Agribusiness graduates not only by providing better employment opportunities and higher income but more importantly , by improving their capability to put up their own
business.
