Labrador This farm practice was conducted at Triple Nine Poultry farm in Sitio Ilang Ilang Brgy. Batas, Silang, Cavite from November 27, 2008 to January 22, 2009 with 7,120 birds in one production cycle. The main objective of the farm practice was to participate in the day to day operation of the farm to gain skills in commercial broiler management. Brooding period lasted for two weeks. During the brooding period, infrared heaters were used as sources of heat. The floor was covered with sacks and rice hull as litter material. The birds were fed ad libitum and consumed 49 bags of chick booster crumble, 140 bags of broiler starter crumble and 259 bags of broiler finisher pellet. Water was made accessible to the birds at all times. After 38 days of rearing and caring, birds attained an average live weight of 1.78 kg and an average feed consumption of 3.60 kg which resulted to a 1.945 kg feed conversion ratio. The farm earned a gross income of Php784, 102.20 and a net income of Php60, 351.20 or Php9.85 / bird.
