Relationship Between Test Frequency and Academic Performance of the High Schaal Students of DSAC, SY 1995-1996. Adviser: Dr. Cristeta M. Mantana This research Study attempted to determine the relationship between test frequency and academic performance of the high school students of DSAC, SY 1995-1996. The total Population in this study was S20 high school students in DSAC Laboratory School. This study used 154 respondents which is 70% of the total population. It was” found out that most of the respondents were fourteen years old. More than one half of them were females. Most of the respondents had low family income. The respondents had an average test frequency of examinations during the third grading period in Mathematics and Science subjects. The high school students of the DSAC Laboratory School, School year 19995-1996 had fair academic performances in Mathematics and Science subject areas. They were homogenous in terms of academic performance. It was also found out that the age is not related to Mathematics performance but is related to Science performance and in combined performances in the two subjects. The students who were 14 years old had the highest performance. Sex is related to academic performance of the high school students in DSAC. Female students performed better academically than male students. Family income is not related to academic performance. The level of test frequency is related to academic performance of the high school students on DSAC, SY 1995-1996. Students who had the most frequent examinations performed better in Mathematics and Science. Based on the findings and conclusions arrived at this study. The researcher recommends frequent giving of examinations at a regular interval to help in improving the academic performance of the students in Mathematics and Science subjects. Students, on the other hand, should not be afraid nor hate taking examinations for it helps a lot in promoting learning and knowledge of the students. Instead they should study harder and be ready for examinations.
