Abstract: CRUSEM, RHEY JEN M. and CURIOSO, JOHN LESTER M. Development of a Portable Medicine Cooling System. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. December 2018. Adviser: Engr. Poinsettia A. Vida. The study was conducted from December 2017 to November 2018 at Bancod, lndang, Cavite. The main objective of the study was to design and construct a portable medicine cooling system. Specifically, it aimed to: to design and construct the control system; to design and construct the cooler compartment; to develop a system software; to develop a UI application software; to test and evaluate the system by creating a stability table for temperature; record device temperature stability under load; and to conduct cost computation. The study has three main operations. First is the Serial interface that send data to display certain information and the parameters appear in smart device. The second operation is the control of the temperature to achieve the desired environment. The last part of the design is the monitoring of temperature that displays the current device and process status. The results of the evaluation revealed that the environmental factors concerning medicine and vaccine stability and efficacy can be controlled by using microcomputers and microcontrollers. The temperature inside the compartment was comparable to the manual ice based submersion cooling and able to uphold the specific temperature for standby time. The total cost of the project was P 37,495.00.
