Abstract: This farm practice aimed to determine “the utilization of small areas in acquiring better income through improved cultural practices. It was conducted from October 1981 to February 1982 at Lumipa, General Aguinaldo, Cavite. An area of 5,000 sq. meters was used for corn production. The field was prepared thoroughly by the use of animal drawn implements. Planting was done in October 1981 by dropping three seconds to a hill at 25-30 cm. apart. Split application of fertilizer was practiced, tne first half was applied before planting and the other half was applied when the corn was about knee high. The corn was harvested when it matured. Marketing was done in General Aguinaldo Public Market. The total harvest was about 575 kg. with 71,725.00 as gross income. After deducting the total expenses of ¥1,350.00 the net labor income of ~375.00 was realized.
