Abstract: MOJICA, HERMINIO E., "Starter Mash with White Corn (WC) and Cassava Leaf Meal (CLM) as Finishing Ration for Broiler." B.S. Thesis, Animal Husbandry, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, March 1988. Adviser: Prof. Camilo F. Guevara, Jr. The study was conducted at the Poultry Project, Department of Animal Science, Don Severino Agricultural College from October to December 1987 to determine the effect of supplementing starter mash with the combination of WC and CLM as finisher ration for broiler; the combi-nation level of supplementation that can be tolerated by the birds and the economics of replacing ground yellow corn with White Corn and Cassava Leaf Meal. Three hundred (300) day old chicks were used in this study. They were randomly and equally divided into four treatments and replicated three times. Significant differences (5% level) were observed in body weight at sixth week and the difference in weight at the seventh week were highly significant in favor of Treatment IV. No significant differences between treatment means of Feed Consumption, Feed Efficiency, Mortality Rate and Income Over Feed and Chick Cost (IOFCC). Results revealed that in time of shortage of yellow corn the combination of white corn and cassava leaf meal can be an excellent substitute as high energy feed for finishing broiler.
