The project, "INTERCROPPING CORN WITH PEANUT '' was conducted in Alulod, Indang, Cavite from October, 1989 to January, 1990. This aimed to increase the land productivity per unit area by intercropping corn with peanuts and to apply the technology in multiple cropping in corn production. A 1,500 square meter field was used in the project. White glutenous corn, peanut and an intercropping scheme were used in this project. Corn were planted 30 centimeters apart in rows spaced one meter apart between furrows. Peanut were planted as intercropped to corn at the same time. Germination of corn and peanut took three to six days after planting. Weeding and cultivation of the project was done twice. The first was at 20 days and the second was 35 days after planting. Corn ears were harvested 110 days from the time of planting and the harvesting of peanut was done 98 days after planting. Harvested corn and peanut were sold at Indang Public Market. Based on the cost and return analysis, results showed that raising corn intercropped with peanut gave a net income of P721.50.
