Abstract: The study "Intercropping Pineapple with Peanut" was conducted at the experimental field owned by Mr. Angel Dimero of Indang, Cavite from October 1986 to February 1987. It aimed to determine the performance of pineapple intercropped with peanut. The establishment of the project aimed to develop give and take relationship between the farm practitioner and the farmer cooperator on the techniques and ideas of growing pineapple and peanut. The field which covered an area of 2,500 square meters was utilized in the project. The area was utilized for the growing of pineapple and peanut which were planted alternately. The field was plowed two times and harrowed twice alternately followed by furrowing and planting. As the weeds started to germinate, weeding was done with the aid of a hand trowel. Fertilization was done two times. One-half of the recommended amount of fertilizer was applied when the roots of the pineapple were already established at about one and a half to two months after planting. The second and final application of fertilizer was done by placing the fertilizer along the sides of the rows two weeks after the seeds had germinated. Harvesting was done when the plants had shown signs or indication that the crops were already mature. The first crop harvested was peanut while the pineapple plants were continuously growing. Harvested peanuts were directly sold at the nearest market. The project gave a net income of P629.00 which could be considered satisfactory.
