April 2009. Adviser: Ms. Lina C. Abogadi e. A field study was conducted at Megaworld Corporation located at The World Centre Building, 330 Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue, Makati City. It aimed to expose the trainee to the real world of business through actual participation in the operations of the firm; describe the organization and management of the company; identify the problems encountered by the firm; and recommend feasible solutions to the problems. Data and information were gathered through interviews with some employees, observations, personal experiences, and secondary sources, such as from company manual and magazines and official website of the company (vvvvw.megaworldcorp.com). Megaworld Corporation is a real estate business and is one of the country's leading property developers. It was found by Mr. Andrew Tan in 1989. The company adopts a functional organization. Every department has its own policies and procedures to follow. The company employs 634 personnel comprising of managers, supervisors, rank-and-files and sales agents. Megaworld Corporation offers high quality residential condominiums, office/ commercial space, and township developments for sale or for rental purposes. Most of its projects are residential condominiums. It uses different kinds of media such as, magazines, newspapers, billboards and television to attract clients in selected areas in Manila, such as: San Juan, Ortigas, Mandaluyong, Manila, Quezon City, Parana' que, Makati City, Taguig and Pasay City where the economy is highly developed. During the conduct of the field study, problems of the firm on delayed payments of the tenants and resignation of the employees were observed by the trainee The company plans to venture in the Visayas Region-Iloilo and Cebu in particular. Field study experiences of the trainee include clerical activities, answering phone calls and calling clients, encoding and issuing provisional receipts.
