April 2011. Adviser: Prof. Cecilia T. Cayao. A field study was conducted at Nissan Westgate Alabang from November 24 2010 to February 19, 2011 for the student to be exposed to actual work situations as well as different management activities in a car dealership operation. The study focused on the marketing aspect, specifically the marketing process, and the products of the firm. Data and information were obtained from the company’s filed documents and through observations and interviews with company personnel. Nissan Westgate Alabang is engaged in trading Nissan passenger and commercial vehicles, genuine parts and accessories as well as related services. The company offers a wide range of product lines which include the latest Nissan models, genuine Nissan parts and services such as diagnosis using consult [[1, special tools and lifters, electrical, mechanicals, overhauling, air-conditioning, body repair and painting, auto detailing, insurance. LTO assistance and financing. The author was assigned at the insurance department where she performed different activities. The insurance department offers insurance services to buyers including annual renewal and facilities claims from insurance companies. The author experienced underwriting a policy in Mapfre/Insular and Standard, prepared renewal notices, authentication, telemarketing, and preparing production reports. Other related activities conducted were computation of insurance premiums, agents’ commissions, and participation fees. The conduct of the field study helped the author to hone her skills and to develop her sense of responsibility, discipline and professionalism which are useful factors in seeking and maintaining employment.
