Abstract: CABARDO, ERICA LABARGAN. An Assessment of the Employability of Cavite State University Graduates from Years 2006 to 2008. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management — Major in Marketing. Cavite State University, Imus, Cavite. March 2009. Adviser: Mr. Sixto N. Ras Jr. The study aimed to: (a) determine the demographic characteristics of Cavite State University graduates; (b) establish the fact that Cavite State University graduates are as competent and are meeting the standards set by the industries as the other graduates from other colleges and universities; and (c) know the advantage of Cavite State University graduates that put them ahead over other graduates when applying for work. The study is a descriptive type of research and the researcher used a survey questionnaire to gather all the necessary information. To determine the scale of attitude towards work of Cavite State University graduates in the said years, the Likert Scale was used to gauge the answers of the employers. Data were gathered from 100 graduates. The study is somehow limited to Bachelor of Science in Business Management of at least three years of graduation period with at least six batches represented. However, the researcher had picked the graduates of only a single discipline as point of study. Successful candidates who finished all academic requirements under the Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree in the years 2006 - 2008 from the following Cavite State University campuses: Carmona, Cavite City, Imus, Indang (College of Economics Management and Developmental Studies), Naic and Rosario are the respondents in this study. Having all the necessary information, the study shows that the premiere state university in Cavite is producing graduates who are highly employable. It is rewarding nonetheless to hear appreciative words from employers saying they like acclaim and commend certain qualities of Cavite State University graduates among them being trustworthy, hardworking, intelligent and easy to train. This claim is supported by the findings in this study which probed how employable are the graduates of Cavite State University. The current study has a number of limitations; the recognition of these should help future research efforts. The findings, through limited to the responses of Cavite State University graduates and their respective employers, can have general information on assessing to the employability if replicated using a larger and statistical valid size. For future studies, researchers might consider that an . assessment on the employability would serve as a fitting assessment of the university's facility to produce quality graduates capable of effecting change and managing situations in a number of industries particularly in this time of globalization.
