Abstract: AMIS, ERIKA JOY R. Exposure to Women's Magazine Television Shows and the Concept Womanhood among Female Students of CvSU-Imus Campus. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication major in Journalism. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Ms. Rhona Grace D. Perola. This study was conducted from November 2013 to March 2014 at Cavite State University and Cavite State University-Imus Campus to find out the exposure to women's magazine television shows and the concept of womanhood among the female students of CvSU-Imus Campus. The study aimed to determine the relationship between the exposure to women's magazine television shows and the concept of womanhood. Specifically, it aimed to determine the level of exposure of the participants on the women's magazine television shows; determine the concept of womanhood among the selected female students of CvSU Imus; and determine if there is a significant relationship between the participants' exposure to women's magazine television shows and the concept of womanhood among the participants. Survey questionnaires were used to gather data in this study which utilized a descriptive method of research. Purposive sampling was used to determine the present number of female students at Cavite State University-Imus Campus who were the participants of the study. Frequency counts, ranking, mean, standard deviation, and correlation coefficient were used in the data gathered. Results showed that female students were exposed to women's magazine television shows. They watched different women's magazine television shows, like Gandang Ricky Reyes and Fashbook. Based on the results of this study, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. Majority of the participants had watched Gandang Ricky Reyes and Fashbook once a month. 2. The participants' concept of womanhood were as follows: Women should be hygienic at all times (physical aspect); women give importance to school matters and her grades (mental aspect); women usually cry when experiencing problems or trials in life (emotional aspect); women cherish relationships even with old friends (social aspect); women think of putting up her own business in the future and women make sure that she has savings for unexpected expenses (financial aspect); and, women are appreciative of the blessings they receive (spiritual aspect). 3. There was no significant relationship between the exposure to women's magazine television shows and the concept of womanhood among female students of CvSU-Imus Campus.
