Abstract: MARAVILLAS, RONALD JAY S. and VERDADERO, ARMANDO JR. C. Proposed Physical Development Plan of CvSU-Main Campus 2018-2043. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Engr. Renato B. Cubilla. The study was conducted from August 2017 to April 2018 at Cavite State University-Don Severino de las Alas campus to provide a physical development plan for CvSU-Main campus from 2018 to 2043 in line with the University's development plan. Specifically, it aimed to: 1. provide a reliable survey of infrastructure inside the University; 2. create/update the university map that includes the infrastructure projects proposed and present the availability of land for development inside the campus; 3. provide an updated land use plan for the University's new infrastructure projects; 4. divide the University into zones thereby limiting the overuse of space; and 5. provide a projection on the population of the university and the demand for the space in the future. In this study, the researchers conducted a land use planning for the physical development of the Cavite State University, as infrastructure development uses space and therefore must be given consideration. In this study, the researchers first assessed the current state of land use in the university by using the existing maps for the identification of existing structures and recording the use of these structures and spaces. The future physical development of the university was also considered as the researchers used the Cavite State Development Plan and Regional Development Investment Program 2017-2022 and compared the infrastructure projects proposed in these documents to the current construction projects inside the campus. To suggest improvements in the physical development of the university, population studies was conducted based on the enrollment of the university since 2010. This was conducted to emphasize that the demand for space, services, and structures may be based on the projected population based on the analysis of the enrollment data. Zoning areas were established by the researchers in the university based on the area responsibility and structure/land use type. Based on the activities of the study, the structure/land use type of the university is grouped into ten categories, namely: Academic, Business/Commercial, Research and Development, Services/Office Buildings/Assembly, Sports/Recreational, Residential, Crop and Animal Production, Plantation, Major Roads, and Open Spaces/Areas for Development. In the analysis, 73% of the university's land area falls under the category of Open Spaces/Areas for Development. This land use type is utilized by the researchers in the creation of physical development plans based on the CvSU Development Plan and the Regional Development Investment Program. The physical development projected by the researchers based on the two documents were compared by the researchers to the on-going construction projects of the university using land use statistics. This gives an overview of the current and future land use in the university. Population studies were also conducted to project the probable student population of the university through the method of linear regression. The model created was utilized in order to show the probable demand for space and its availability for the coming years. The population projection is up to Academic Year 2043 that may predict the land availability for a student, therefore giving a suggestion or a factor to consider for the physical development of the Cavite State University in the future.
