Online resources: Abstract: VERGARA, VINCENT V. Development and Evaluation of an Improved Prototype Cha-cha Cultivator. An Undergraduate Thesis, Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering, College of Engineering and Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. December 2017. Adviser: Dr. Camilo A. Polinga. The study "Development and Evaluation of an Improved Prototype Cha-cha Cultivator" was conducted from June 2016 to November 2017 in CvSU, Indang, Cavite and Silang, Cavite. It aimed to design and construct an improved version of a Cha-cha cultivator, and; evaluate the performance of the cultivator in terms of area covered per unit time and compare it against common cultivating equipment. The study used two different cultivating equipment’s; a trowel and the Cha-cha cultivator. The prototype and the modified Cha-cha cultivators were both evaluated to determine the improvements on the modifications which cost Php 2500. They were used in a local farm at Silang, Cavite in an area of three meters by one meter. Each was repeated thrice on different areas within the farm. The results showed that the Cha-cha cultivators are comparable to the trowel in terms of speed, however the trowel was not able to match the depth of cut that the Cha-cha cultivators has cultivated. The modified Cha-cha cultivator which was taller but lighter in .comparison to the prototype required less force in operation while managing to cultivate a larger volume of soil.
