Abstract: MENDOZA, RICKY ATTENZA, Don Severi no Agricultural College Indang, Cavite, April 1996. 'DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING or A SCREW PRESS JUICE EXTRACTOR" Adviser: Engr. Renato B. Cubilla The screw—press juice extractor was developed and tested at the School of Engineering, Don Severino Agricultura]. College, Indang, Cavite- It had the following basic parts: perforated cylinder, collecting cylinder , screw—press mechanism and frame . The designed machine was tested for samples of pineapple, papaya and guava using the following treatments: Tl, sliced fruit sample and T 2, sliced, frozen and thawed fruit sample. The amount of juice extracted by the machine, the amount of residual juice manually extracted and the extraction efficiency for al] fruit samples used were not affected by the treatments used. The initial cost of the machine is P 4,038.00 which can be recovered within O .362 months. The total fixed cost was computed to be p 1, 243.88 and the total operating cost per year is P 16,103.44.
