Abstract: AMBIT, EDITHA ROLLON Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang Cavite„ April 1997 "Effects of Different Plant Support for Solution Hydroponic Planted Lettuce" Adviser Engr: David L. Cero. The study was conducted at the greenhouse of Crop Science Department of the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from January to March 1997 to determine the effects of different plant support cultured hydroponic planted lettuce A Randomized Complete H Block Design (RCHD) was used with five (5) block and four (4) treatments, namely: plastic mesh (T1) Styrofoam (T2) sponge (T3) and control (T4) Results of the study revealed that the growth of lettuce was affected by the different treatments used Significant effects of different plant supports were observed on the plant height at maturity, number of leaves final root length and yield, The most favorable result were exhibited by the plants grown in sponge. Therefore, it is advisable to use sponge plant support because it can hold more solution that can be easily utilized by plants The growth performance of lettuce determined using Sponge that gave higher yield compared to other treatments Used.
