Abstract: DINGLASAN, KIMBERLY M., MARANAN, DANIELLA AYRRA co, & RABANO, STEPHANIE C. Binata na si Ate: Acceptance, Changes, and Interpersonal Relationship of Parents with their Lesbian Child. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. May 2017. Thesis Adviser: Joy N. Babaan, This study uncovers the stories of acceptance, the changes occurred, and the interpersonal relationship of the parents of lesbian. It specifically aimed to know how parents' find out that their child is a lesbian; understand how parents accept the sexual orientation of their lesbian child; identify the perceived changes of the parents after finding out their child's sexual orientation in terms of: daily routine; relationship with their child; relationship with other people; and future plan. This study made used of qualitative research design specifically narrative analysis involving 5 pairs of parents of lesbian from the selected areas in Cavite. The results revealed that in the stories of parents they have known their child's sexuality through observed behavior, style of clothes, preferred toys and circle of friends. Most of them willingly accepted their child without confronting her on her sexuality. Perceived changes were their child does not like working household chores; their relationship become closer with their child; their relationship with other people does not change; and their plan were for their child to build her own family. Furthermore, themes acquired in the study were: for the acceptance of parents with their lesbian child, the three themes found were adaptation and adjustment on the sexual orientation of their child, integration with their child and their support for their child; and in the changes that occur in their daily routine, relationship with their daughter and with other people and future plan, the themes acquired were security for their child to have a better future, for their child to build their own family and their continue support for their child's decision in the future.
