Abstract: DINGLASAN, GERALDINE R., GUZANO, ANNA MAE M., MENDOZA, MELIZZA E., and VILLAREAL, TRISHIA MAE S., A Process Siluplification of Admission and Placernent System for Cavite State University. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Prepared under the supervision of Dr. Willie C. Buclatin, PIE, ASEAN Engr, Cavite State University offers excellent, equitable, and relevant education activities. The University was recognized for its outstanding performance and is currently ISO 9001:2015 certified. As time passes by, the number of students aiming to be admitted in the said University increases and with this, the university has to provide corresponding services. The study focused on the evaluation of the current admission and placement system in the university to determine the critical problems encountered, the features to be included in the web-based application that suit the ergonomic quality of a system, and the possible recommendations for the admission and placement system. The evaluation of the current system resulted that the Cavite State University uses a manual admission system from generating application form until the releasing of results of the admission examination phase as their current process. The researchers found that the problems experienced by the students were insufficient information, long queue, being time- consuming, and poor quality of service. The researchers used developmental research and further used the Define Measure- Analyze-Design-Valiclate (DMADV) method to obtain the objectives set in this study. The participants of the study were 381 freshmen students and 12 OSAS staff. Results revealed that the current admission and placement system needed an improvement. Define Measure Analyze Design Verify (DMADV) and some engineering tools were used to design and develop a web- based admission and placement system. The proposed system was evaluated in ternns of ergonomic criteria and software quality. Based on the findings of this study, the researchers concluded that it is necessary to develop a systenn for the process simplification of the admission and placement process in the Cavite State University.
