This study entitled of "Effectiveness of City Mayor's Facebook Page as a promotional tool
for the educational program among selected college students in Barangay Inocencio, Aguado
and Cabuco, Trece Martires Cavite City 2019-2022" was conducted the research study from
September 2021 and completed to July 2022 using an online survey and limited face to face
interview. A major goal of the study is to discover the effectiveness of promoting an Educational
Assistance program using the City Mayor's Facebook pages and it also to seek to determine the
extent of local government's implementation of educational assistance using the City Mayor's
Facebook page. The focus of the mixed method inquiry research was to dig further into the
perspectives of college students who participated in the local government program.
The students' perceptions were centered on what they attributed to the program as the
main variables that contribute to the subject. The convenience and criteria-based sampling
selection were used in this quantitative research. Participants were chosen from a group of the
area are selected barangay Inocencio, Aguado, and Cabuco in Trece Martires City who had
been identified as at-risk and was transitioned to follow the IATF protocol for preventing the
infectious disease. The participants' experiences before being assigned to local government
practices, their experiences throughout the program that they are implemented as policymakers,
and their opinions on the educational assistance program were all explored using narrative
inquiry as a framework. The analysis performed by the researcher during the interview modified
the participants' narrative construction. Including the findings, college students may have limited
access to the City Mayor's Facebook Page due to a misleading binary correlation between
traditional and alternative instructional approaches. The findings also show that, while college
students are their age, they are less likely to more actively engage in behaviors that significant
lead to them might be the most active on social media, and they demonstrate intrinsic drive and
commitment in actively applying for educational assistance programs. .
Since the Trece Martires has been the most prominent in campaigning for educational
assistance through the use of the City Mayor's Facebook page, this study has implications for
various stakeholders related to a different method of the public delivery service of the program.
The findings suggest that the methods local governments should gain a deeper understanding
of their college students' backgrounds and become more aware of the types of issues these
college students experience. Additionally, localities should seek opportunities to challenge
dominant perceptions in order to best serve their students.
Moreover, policymakers should be modifying reform regulations regarding attendance
and testing schedules to better accommodate the needs of college students for their education.
Lastly, this research created a space for students' voices so that concerns should be raised for
the stakeholders to create strategic reform for the educational assistance program participants.
