Abstract: DE ROXAS, NICASIO BARREDO. E. Chan Marketing, Trece Martires City, Cavite. Field Study. Bachelor of Science in Business Management, major in Marketing. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2004. Adviser: Mrs. Cecilia T. Cayao. A 480-hour field study was conducted at E. Chan Marketing, located at Barangay De Ocampo, Trece Martires City, Cavite from November 13, 2003 to February 14, 2004. It aimed to develop the skills and abilities of the student through actual training in a business firm. Specifically, it aimed to describe the policies and procedures of the business, its operation and marketing activities and identify the problems encountered by the firm. It was also conducted to enable the author apply his gained knowledge in Business Management to real work situations. The needed data and information were gathered through observations and interviews with the staff Other data were gathered from the firm's records and files. E. Chan Marketing is engaged in the distribution of consumer goods such as Lucky Me noodles from Monde Nissin Corporation, biscuits from Monde M.Y. San, and canned goods and juices from RFM-SWIFT Company. The business distributes the products in almost 12 towns of Cavite. The products are sold either in cash or installment basis. In installment basis, E.C.M. gives its buyers one week to settle their payables. During the conduct of the field study, the author noted several problems encountered by the Firm. The business encountered some difficulties in collecting payments from customers. Some customers' failed to settle their accounts on due date. This problem affected the financial status of the establishment. E. Chan Marketing employees were observed to be very cooperative, however, due to the limited number of regular personnel, most of them were overloaded with work.
