Abstract: LAURELES, GLICERIA CORTEZ. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, May 1998. "Growth Response of Asparagus to Different Levels of Carbonized Rice Hull as Soil Conditioner Under Drip Irrigation". Adviser: Engr. David L. Cero The study was conducted at the Central Experimental Station of Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite from December 1997 to April 1998 to determine the growth response of asparagus to different levels of carbonized rice hull. An area of 40 square meters was used in the study. It was divided into six blocks. Six treatments were used with ten replications subjected to different levels of application of carbonized rice hull. The levels were 400 g, 300 g, 200 g, 100 g, 50 g and control. The study showed that the difference in application of carbonized rice hull can affect the growth performance of asparagus. The result of the study revealed that Treatment 1, 400 g level of carbonized rice hull, gave the best response as far as the growth of asparagus is concerned. Carbonized rice hull also enhanced the soil properties such as field capacity, apparent specific gravity, bulk density and porosi
