Abstract: LIGSA, LOVELY JOY SARMIENTO. Norkis Group of Companies, Mandaluyong City. Field Study. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Marketing Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2011. Adviser: Ms. Illuminada R. Hernandez. The field study was conducted in Norkis Group of Companies located at 11 Calbayog St. Libertad Cor. Mandaluyong City from November 23, 2010 to February 11, 2011. The study helped to enhance the knowledge and abilities of the trainee and provided an opportunity to experience how to work in actual business operation. It aimed to describe the organization and management practices of the company, identify the different products of the company, identify the marketing strategies used by the company and determine the problem encountered by the firm and recommend feasible solutions. Data about products offered by the company, plans, duties and responsibilities of the employees were gathered from company records, profile, observation, interviews and other relevant resources. Orientation about the company also helped in gathering information. Other information and documents were obtained from the CvSU library, CvSU Research Center and the Norkis Group website. The Norkis Group, a leading conglomerate in the Philippines, best-known for motorcycles, multipurpose cabs, light van and small car production and distribution recently partnered with IBM to work on and implement a smarter business system to enable its rapid nationwide growth. Starting out as the country’s exclusive manufacturer and distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in 1962, the Norkis Group diversified its product range and expanded to multiple branch locations. They also manufactured products like Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki and other brand from China like Haojue. The field study gave the trainee an opportunity to be exposed to the real world of business operation. It also provided a chance to develop personal, social and professional skills of the trainee.
