This study was conducted at Cavite State University-Main Campus, Indang, Cavite, Philippines at the Laboratory of Animal Science Department from February to May 2017. It aimed to determine the following: the efficacy of crude extract of different parts of makabuhay against biting lice of goats, which extract of makabuhay part is best against biting lice of goats, biting lice mortality at different hours after applying the extract of different parts of makabuhay and the efficacy of makabuhay extract to the different sexes of biting lice. The study used 100 male and 100 female biting lice that were collected on naturally infected goats of either sex at Barangay Punta Il, Tanza, Cavite. Makabuhay plant was collected from the forested area of Kawit, Cavite. Crude extract was collected on each part of the makabuhay plant (leaves, stem, and roots) separately. The different treatments were Sevin (Treatment 0) for the positive control, leaf crude extract (Treatment l), stem crude extract (Treatment 2) and root crude extract (Treatment 3) of Tinospora rumphii. In vitro mortality results showed insignificant differences over leaf crude extract (T l ) and stem crude extract (T2) treatments for male and female biting lice during 12, 24, 36 and 48 hours after the application. However, root crude extract (T3) showed significant percentage mortality of 36% and 52% on female biting lice on 12 and 36 hours respectively after application. Through the results of the statistical analysis, it could be inferred that only the root cmde extract of Tinospora rumphii showed highest licicidal efficacy on female biting lice.
