Abstract: CRUZ, JEANYNE A., SAGUN, FELISA YNA C., SUMAYAO, KERSTEINE A. Social Status, Modes of Relating, and Social Adjustment of Parents of Persons with Disability in Selected Areas in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2017. Adviser: Ms. Mary Jane A. Amparo. The main objective of this research was to investigate the social status, modes of relating, and social adjustment of the parents of persons with disability, and to determine how social status relates to modes of relating, how social status associates with social adjustment, and how modes of relating correlates with social adjustment. Total enumeration was used in gathering the participants of the study. It was conducted from February to March 2018. A questionnaire was used to measure the levels of social status, modes of relating, and social adjustment of the parents of persons with disability. The instrument used for measuring the social status and social adjustment was made by the researchers, while the questionnaire for modes of relating was modified from Dr. Frederick Coolidge. The instruments used, which consisted of three sets, had undergone validation and reliability testing. The research revealed that most of the parents of persons with disability had very high level of social adjustment. It meant that they did not-consider themselves as different from other parents who have a normal child. It also illustrated that they were able to cope up well with their relationship with other people.
