Abstract: DELA CRUZ, JAN EMMANUEL Q., EULLO, NEIL ERIC M., MANALOTO, MARAIAH ALONA B. Resiliency, Depression and Psychological Well-Being of Female-Partner Victims of Domestic Violence in Mendez, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2019. Adviser: Armi Grace B. Desingano. The study was conducted from January to March 2019 at Mendez, Cavite to find out the correlation of resiliency, depression, and psychological well-being of female-partner victims of domestic violence and to know how the participants cope with their experiences. Specifically the study sought to determine the level of resiliency of female-partner victims of domestic violence in Mendez, Cavite; level of depression of female-partner victims of domestic violence in Mendez, Cavite; level of psychological well-being of the female-partner victims of domestic violence in Mendez, Cavite in terms of self-acceptance, positive relation with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, and personal growth; significant relationship among the following variables level of resiliency and level of depression, level of resiliency and level of psychological well-being, level of depression and level of psychological well-being of female-partner victims of domestic violence in Mendez, Cavite; and coping mechanisms of female partner victims of domestic violence in Mendez, Cavite with their experiences. The research designs that were used in the study were descriptive-correlational method and explanatory sequential mixed methods. The researchers utilized four research instruments written in English and Filipino that were validated by experts. The research instruments were Resilience Test, Beck's Depression Inventory H, Ryff's Scales of Psychological Well-Being and Resiliency of Victims of Domestic Violence Questionnaire. The researcher used total enumeration for quantitative method and extreme or deviant case sampling for qualitative method as the sampling techniques. The participants in the locale were 25 total of population. The researchers selected eight participants who scored high in level of resiliency among the entire population for the qualitative method. The statistical measures used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and spearman rank correlation. The data analysis used was thematic analysis. The 0.05 level of significance was set for the study. Based on the results of the study, the female-partner victims of domestic violence had a level of resiliency and had mild depression. In terms of psychological well-being, the participants had lower level of self-acceptance, higher level of positive relation to others, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, and personal growth. It was also found out that the level of resiliency of the participants had no significant relationship to their level of depression; the level of resiliency of the participants had no significant relationship to their level of psychological well-being; and it was also revealed the level of depression of the participants had no significant relationship to their level of psychological well-being. The analysis revealed that the participants used to cope with their experience were to seek familial support and external support, to seek help from authority, to seek financial independence, and emotional empowerment, to focus on children's welfare, to engage in recreational activities, religious coping, and distancing as their ways to cope up with their experiences.
