This project was conducted at Brgy. Kayrilaw, Nasugbu, Batangas from February 4, 2017, to April 30, 2017. The project aimed to develop skills in swine raising in terms of actual operation and management of a swine raising project and to determine the profitably of raising swine. The swine raising project used four piglets that were purchased from backyard swine raisers; the average weight of the piglets is 15 kg. The feeds were bought at Nasugbu public market. Hogs were fed three times a day.
At the first month, the stocks consumed four and half sacks of swine starter pellet which amounted to P5,875.00. They also consumed six sacks of swine grower pellet which amounted to P8, 100.00 and four sacks of swine finisher pellet with an amount of
P5,600.00.
After 86 days the stock weighed an average live weight of 73.25 kg, with an average daily gain of 677 grams per day. The hogs consumed an average of 725 kg of feeds per head, giving a feed consumption efficiency of 3.11.
A total of P32,667.00 was used for buying of stocks, feeds, medicine, and other inputs used in the operation.
The business gave a net income which amounted to P5,573 .00 giving a return of investment (ROI) of 17%.
