Generally, the study aimed to determine l.) The parental involvement of selected students with separated parents; 2.) The motivation of selected students with separated parents; 3.) The academic performance of selected students with separated parents; 4.) If there is a significant relationship between parental involvement and motivation of selected students with separated parents; 5) If there is a significant relationship between parental involvement and academic performance of selected students with separated parents; 6.) If there is a significant relationship between motivation and academic performance of selected students with separated parents in Dasmarinas West National
High School
The study was conducted from November to December 2014 using the modified and validated instruments. There were two parts in the instrument scale composed of 29 items for parental involvement and 24 items for intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Based on the data gathered, there were 1 16 students with separated parents ranging from 13-15 years old who belong to grade 7 to grade 9 in Dasmarinas West National High School.
Based on the finding most of the participants have a high level of parental involvement, while motivation was found to be very high level both intrinsic and extrinsic. On the other hand, Approaching Proficiency (AP) with a numerical value of 8084 % was found as academic performance of selected students with separated parents. The study revealed also that parental involvement was significantly related to motivation. The analysis also showed that parental involvement and academic performance were not significantly related. Finally, the result showed that motivation has a relationship to academic performance of selected students with separated parents.
