The study entitled "Application of Multivariate Analysis in Classroom
Management Assessment of Cvsu-CAS Lecture Classes" was conducted at Cavite
State University, College of Arts and Sciences, Indang, Cavite from January to February 2004. This study aimed to: (1) determine the performance of the faculty members based on the student evaluation; (2) identify the underlying factors from the various statements describing faculty's classroom management, and (3) reduce the number of statements describing classroom management from the original set of data.
A total of 317 first- and second-year college students who completed one whole semester in college were considered as subjects of this study. There were 25 variables used (Appendix B).
For factor analysis and principal component analysis six factors and components were extracted. From analysis and evaluation of the findings, underlying factors from the various statements describing faculty's classroom management were defined these were the style of presentation factor, preparation factor, learning device factor, courtesy factor, readiness of service factor and punctuality factor. From these factors, the performances of faculty members were determined. Also, the twenty-five questions that were used to determine the performance of faculty were reduced to six.
