The study was conducted to determine the level of motivation based on motivators of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and morale of courier riders of selected areas in Cavite. Specifically, the study aimed to: (1) determine the socio-demographic profile of courier riders of selected areas in Cavite; (2) determine the route of courier riders of selected areas in Cavite; (3) determine the most common problems encountered by the participants; (4) determine the level of employee motivation based on the motivators of Maslow's hierarchy of needs in terms of self-actualization, esteem needs, social needs, safety needs, and physiological needs; and (5) determine the level of employee morale of riders in the online courier industry in terms of value, future/goal, and interpersonal relationship.
The study applied a descriptive design. The participants of the study were courier riders in the online courier industry of selected areas in Cavite. Moreover, through the use of quota sampling, 100 participants were selected for this study. The primary data were collected through a survey questionnaire which was given to the participants by using an online courier app and sending it to them through mail or through google forms.
The statistical treatment of data that was used to determine the sociodemographic profile of courier riders of selected areas in Cavite, the route of courier riders of selected areas in Cavite, the most common problems encountered by the participants, the level of employee motivation based on the motivators of Maslow's hierarchy of needs in terms of self-actualization, esteem needs, social needs, safety needs, and physiological needs, the level of employee morale of riders in the online courier industry in terms of value, future/goal, and interpersonal relationship were mean, percentage, frequency, and standard deviation.
According to the socio-demographic profile of the participants, the majority were male, aged 24-28, married, finished tertiary education, and working as full-time courier riders. Moreover, the results showed that the majority of courier riders are in Dasmarifias City, Cavite. The data also indicated that the most common problem that is being encountered by courier riders are fake/fraud bookings, and the least common problem is meeting rude traffic enforcers. Furthermore, the results revealed that the motivation based on motivators of Maslow's hierarchy of needs of courier riders of selected areas in Cavite have excellent level of self-actualization needs with a mean of 4.3240, esteem needs with a mean of 4.4640, and social needs with a mean of 4.3520, and have an above average level of safety needs with a mean of 3.7780, and physiological needs with a mean of 4.0740.Lastly, results show that courier riders of selected areas in Cavite have a high level of values, goals, and interpersonal relationship with an overall mean of 3.9773 which show that the participants have a high level of morale
