NARIDO, CZARINA MAE P., TAGOTONG, TIM M., VALENZUELA, TRICIA MAE L.
Cash Flow Management and Financial Stability of the Small Food Enterprises in Selected
Cities of Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Cavite State
University, Indang, Cavite. August 2022. Adviser: Asst. Prof. Maria Isolde R. Sustrina,
CPA, MBA.
Cash flow management is crucial to the success of every business. It is an essential tool
in allowing businesses to operate effectively and efficiently. It creates positive cash flows and
adds value to the company, especially for small enterprises. Specifically, the study aimed to
describe the socio demographic profile of participant and the profile of their business; determine
the level of implementation of cash flow management through cash flow planning, monitoring,
and controlling; ascertain the level of financial stability based on liquidity, solvency, and
profitability; and identify if there is an association between cash flow management and financial
stability of the business. The descriptive and correlational quantitative research is virtually
conducted during the academic year 2020-2021 in the province of Cavite to ascertain how cash
flow management is implemented by selected small food enterprises. Validated close- ended
survey questionnaire was used to gather pertinent data from the participants. Fifty (50) business
owners and managers were selected using purposive sampling. Analysis of the data gathered
revealed that most of the participating small food businesses in Cavite implemented cash flow
management by planning, monitoring, and controlling cash flows. They were also able to
consistently maintain a state of financial stability as they are liquid and solvent all the time and
remains profitable most of the time. It can be concurred that there is a positive correlation
between cash flow management and financial stability of the business. Thus, they should
consider the constant improvement of strategies in handling cash for it is crucial for them to
achieve financial growth and stability. |
