MOJICA, RUEL CALLEJASO "Pilipinas Kaneko Seeds Corporation (PKSC): A Case Study 0 't Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness, Don Severino Agricultural College. October 1990. Adviser: Mr. Angelo P. Olo.
A case study was conducted from April 16, 1990 to July 6, 1990 at the Pilipinas Kaneko Seeds Corporation located at Barangay Tibig, Lipa City. The purpose was to let the student apply the knowledge and skills gained in Agribusiness to actual operations, specifically, the study aimed to present and analyze the performance of the company, identify critical problems p and formulate viable solutions that may lead to the successful attainment of the objectives of the firm.
The study focused on management and organization, production, marketing and financing aspects of the primary data were gathered through direct observation of the firm's activities and involvement in some decision-making processes as well as from several interviews with the key personnel of the company, Secondary data were gathered from the record books of the company.
After a thorough evaluation of the firm p it was found out that the company is facing various problems in its different management aspects. In production, attaining the target volume of produced seeds from the contract grower is a company t s problem, storing produced seeds also happened to be a problem. Also due to the presence of some companies which entered in the same industry, PKSC is now experiencing a stiff competition among these companies.
To increase the seed production needed to attain the target volume, encouragement of more contract grower is recommended. Construction of another storage room to carry all the stocks adequately is also recommended As far as stiff competition is concerned, PKSC needs to produce more high-quality seeds,
