Abstract: COSTA, RAMIL C. Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite. "Resource Productivity Estimates of Broiler Production in Selected Towns of Cavite", B.S. Thesis. Adviser: Mr. Gilchor Cubillo. This research study aimed to determine and examine the level, productivity and efficiency of the resources used in broiler production. A total of 58 respondents who constituted the sample were actually interviewed from the towns of Indang, Alfonso, Silang, Amadeo, General Trias, Dasmarinas, Tanza, Naic, Imus and Bacoor and the cities of Trece Martirez and Tagaytay. The methods of analysis used in the study included the descriptive analysis and the resource productivity analysis. The Cobb-Douglas production function was used to estimate resource productivities. The analysis was based on the data for the fifth production period in 1989. Average feed and man-labor utilization in small and large production were found to be significantly different while there were no significant differences on medicinal and operating expenses between the two scales of production. The resource productivity analysis showed that feed input gave the greatest effect on output followed by medicinal expenses and man-labor inputs. Operating expenses on the other hand, had no significant effect on output. The resource utilization efficiency analysis revealed that there was an under-utilization of feeds and man-labor. In order to increase profit, these inputs should be sufficiently increased.
